The CQ NRL Bid are challenging Central Queensland businesses to support the development of Rugby League in Central Queensland and the ultimate dream of a Central Queensland-based NRL Team by signing on as a Bid Corporate Partner.

“We are coming up to our 7th year of our Bid and it is essential that we keep the momentum going as the average time to secure a team is around the 9 year mark,” Murphy said.

With securing a team the region will also secure an international Standard Stadium that can be used for various other sports and events in addition to NRL games. Many great Rugby League players originate from CQ however; they have been forced to move away to pursue their dreams. A team will provide a career pathway for local Rugby League players to play in the NRL from home through our highly successful development program.

The CQ NRL Bid has been successful in uncovering talent across the whole CQ region with 83 kids from the region signed to NRL Teams in the past 3 years and another 20 kids being selected to be part of the winning national elite tour team.

It is our dream to provide a pathway to a Central Queensland-based NRL Team that allows our junior talent to remain close to home while achieving their rugby league goals.
